Inserting Pictures

Insert → Pictures → This Device, Stock Images, or Online. Resize from corner handles (Shift keeps proportion); crop with Picture Format → Crop.

Picture Styles and Effects

• Picture Format → Picture Styles - frames, shadows, shapes like circles.
• Corrections - sharpen and brightness; Color - recolor for brand fit.
• Remove Background - cut out a subject in one click when background is simple.
• Always add Alt text (right-click → Edit Alt Text) for accessibility and SEO.

Shapes and Icons

Insert → Shapes: arrows, boxes, and process connectors. Hold Shift to draw perfect squares/circles. Format fills, outlines and shadows on the Shape Format tab. For modern flat graphics use Insert → Icons.

SmartArt - Diagrams Without Drawing

Insert → SmartArt: choose Process, Hierarchy, List or Matrix, then type into the text pane:

• Process - steps: "Collect data → Analyse → Present".
• Hierarchy - org charts.
• Cycle - repeating loops.

SmartArt re-lays itself out as you add items - no hand-aligning.
