Privacy Settings

Settings > Privacy and Security controls cookies and site data. The default Balanced level blocks third-party cookies while allowing first-party, common for modern sites.

Safe Browsing

Chrome checks pages and downloads against Google's Safe Browsing lists, showing a warning before dangerous sites load. Enhanced protection opts into more aggressive warnings in exchange for sending URLs for analysis.

Incognito

Ctrl+Shift+N opens Incognito: no history, cookies or form data are saved locally. Remember the current device still sees ISP traffic and the site sees you, so it is privacy-on-this-device, not anonymity.

Password Manager

Chrome saves and autofills passwords and generates strong ones. Password manager (chrome://password-manager/) shows strengths, breached passwords or unsafe reuse flags.

Site Permissions

Manage per-site access to camera, mic, location and notifications from the lock icon in the address bar - revoke anything a site no longer needs.
