Think Mode: Reasoning Through Hard Problems
What Think Does
Think mode spends extra compute reasoning before answering: exploring options, checking its own logic, then summarizing. Use it for architecture decisions, tricky bugs, math, and multi-step planning. Leave it off for small talk and simple facts.
Practical Workflow
State the goal, the constraints and what a good answer looks like. Let it think, then ask for what it considered and rejected: what were the top two alternatives and why did you discard them? That second answer is often more valuable than the first.
Cost of Thinking
Reasoning takes longer and consumes more quota. Match effort to stakes: quick model for drafts and brainstorms, Think for decisions you cannot easily reverse.
