Three Ways In

Use Grok on the web at grok.com, inside the X app through the Grok tab, or via the standalone mobile app. Sign in with an X account, Apple, Google or email. A free tier covers everyday use; paid tiers raise limits and unlock the newest models.

Your First Five Prompts

Start with one of each kind: a factual question about today''s news, a writing task, a question about an uploaded photo or file, a brainstorm, and a follow-up that references the previous answer. Follow-ups are where assistants earn their keep.

Settings Worth Changing

Pick the model that fits the task (fast for chat, reasoning for hard problems), connect the apps you use, and review privacy settings for chat history and data use before pasting anything sensitive.
