Signing Up and Getting Approved

Creating your account

Go to the Associates site for your country (for example affiliate-program.amazon.in or .com) and sign up with your normal Amazon account. You will describe your website or app, the topics you cover, how you drive traffic, and how you intend to build links.

Add every site you will use

List each website, blog or app where your links will appear in Account Settings → Manage Your Website List. This matters: placing links on a site you never declared is a policy violation that can get your account closed.

The 180-day rule

New accounts are approved provisionally. You must refer at least three qualifying sales within 180 days of applying, or the account is closed (you can re-apply). So do not sit on the account – get real links live on real content quickly.

Tip: The three sales cannot be your own purchases – buying through your own links to hit the target is prohibited and easy for Amazon to detect.

Tax and payment details

Before you are paid you must complete a short tax interview and choose a payment method (bank transfer, Amazon gift card, or cheque, depending on country) and a minimum payout threshold. Do this early so nothing blocks your first payment.

Key points

  • Sign up with your existing Amazon account and describe your site honestly.
  • Declare every site/app that will host links.
  • Refer three qualifying sales within 180 days to keep the account.
  • Finish the tax interview and payment setup up front.
